A Deep Psychological Need? And That's a Problem Because ?. . .
Those "snarly skeptics" and anti-UFOists - - the pathological fundie skeptics - - sneer at those of us taking a serious look at UFOs, including all of the phenomena related experiences, as if we're somehow deficiant psychologically. Coming from that crowd, it's not a surprising tack for them to take; still, it does get tiresome. There are also some who are supposedly so-called "believers" in the UFO phenomenon who llike to fling this idea about, as if it's some kind of accusation.
You bet I have some kind of "psychological need" to do this. Of course I do! I've been living with this all my life. I've seen multiple UFOs. I've had at least two episodes of missing time. I've been in telepathic communication with non-human entities, I've had psychic experiences involving UFOs, and truck loads of synchronistic moments. There's more; much more, and a lot of it extends to my spouse, family members, and close friends.
So given this history of high strangeness in the realm of UFOs, it would be very weird -- pathological, I'd say -- to ignore all this, and just go merrily about my business as if nothing weird had ever happened.
To the skeptibunkies, I say: try again, kiddos. It's not an insult, and you haven't proved a thing. Or, disproved a thing.

Regan,
In every field there are bound to be debunkers. They have a certain psychological profile. These super-rationalists beyond anything else MUST be in control at ALL times. The big, mysterious world shrunk down to the size of a shoe box. In addition, they are so uncreative, so lacking in original concepts that they can only find mental satisfaction in tearing down the ideas and world views of others. "Benefit of the doubt?" It's not in their lexicon.
Just ask Robert Bauval and Graham Hancock about these sorts of rather pathetic creatures. They savage any paradigm that is not the mainstream orthodoxy. They are the real realists. The bona fide boneheads. They are mature, adult, bringers of truth to the deluded. The Orion Correlation Theory? Naw, the pyramids are just tombs for the pharoahs, even though not one bone or shred of funerary material has ever been found in them.
But don't be so hard on these doubting Thomases--and they do seem to be predominantly male. They are simply trying to simplify life to a digestable formula. 1 + 1, ever and anon, = 2. They confront the waves of chaos and eternal conundrums of existence with nursery rhymes and platitudes. "I think, therefore... I'm right." Their puny existence should be the object of pity, not scorn.
