LETTER TO EDITOR

December 5, 2008

Editor:

The TV program UFO Hunters is doing a great job in investigating some of the recent well known UFO sightings. Moreover, this team is helping to punch holes in the debunkers/skeptics arguments which are usually weak to begin with. Take for example the recent episode (10-29-08) regarding the Tinley Park, IL encounters. Hunters obtained a number of videos shot from different locations during the August 21, 2004, encounter which was witnessed by multipludes of people on that summer night.

Using methods such as triangulation and computer stabilization of one light, the team was able to show that the three lights remained a constant distance from each other and were fixed or locked to some kind of structure. The lights were estimated to be at an elevation around 2000 feet. The added experiment of sending helium balloons aloft with flares attached to a PVC structure (far smaller than the one sided, 1500 ft. estimate of the videoed craft) showed that balloons and flares could not have been what was seen in the sky that night for periods of a half hour and more.

A Larry King episode (1-18-08) featured skeptic/debunker James McGaha (among others) explaining away the Phoenix lights (March, 1997) as just lights with no evidence that they were connected or fixed to a structure. This despite eye witnesses Erin Watson and Monica Bush interviewed on the program who attested the huge craft moved slowly and took four minutes to pass over them as it blotted out the stars. McGaha’s response was “they didn’t know what they were looking at,” and these were just lights with no evidence that they were fixed and what they saw were five high flying Warthog jets. The young ladies were adamant that they saw a structured craft of huge proportions and that it was not a group of jets. Fyfe Symington (R), Governor of Arizona at the time, first made light of the event but later admitted he witnessed the same huge craft as it came directly over his home. On more than one occasion he has described the craft as “unworldly”.

Edwards AFB Episode

Dear History Channel,

The UFO Hunters episode of 30 April 2008 was absolutely first rate. This show has gotten exponentially better since the beginning of the season as they have gone from somewhat contrived episodes concerning broad UFO topics to specific events or phenomenon. The research, narration and balanced presentation in this episode concerning the incident near Edwards AFB in 1965 are exceptional. UFO Hunters has become increasingly interesting and in this case actually ground breaking in its revelatory analysis. I hope all involved with the program have the sense to continue this trend of meticulous research into truly remarkable events and continue to avoid any tendency toward sensationalism. I fervently hope History Channel recognizes the potential of this quality program.

Reverse Engineering episode

Hello Nancy, this is "Mike from Hillsborough"'s son.
I also watches the UFO Hunters series, and while watching the Reverse Engineering episode, I realized that the reported Kecksburg UFO symbols that were shown to be similar to the Drone symbols, looked awfully familiar.  I sat down at our common laptop computer, did a quick search on the internet for images from the UFO Hunters episode of the Kecksburg symbols, and found it as a streaming video.  To me they resembled the nonsensical, fictional symbols from the highly popular sci-fi movie series The Matrix.
So I also did a quick search for "Matrix font" on a common search engine, and found symbols that were not only similar to the "ufo symbols" but one that was exactly the same.  Please take a look at the attached photo, and please send it on to all of your staff, especially the team on the TV series.
Now I realize that those symbols  were recollected from someone's memory in 1965, and that possibly the makers of the Matrix movies had also learned of these symbols and thought that they might be neat to have in a fictional movie, but in the recent 2007 photos of the California drones, the symbols and the craft could have easily been dreamt up as a hoax.

I just want to present what I have found, and pass it on. Please reply to my father through this address to let us know that you received this email.

Signed,
bluefury
